Flooring Berlin

Ten small areas of wasteland in various districts of Berlin will be covered with non-slip tiles. The course of the necessary construction work (securing the site, leveling, applying the lean concrete screed, laying the tiles) is as much a part of the work as the deconstruction and restoration to the approximate original condition after a few months.

"Flooring Berlin" was selected by STIFTUNGKUNSTFONDS for the NEUSTART KULTUR grant in November 2020.

Christian Hasucha worked on the individual wastelands unannounced in December 2020 and from March to July 2021. Where it seemed necessary, he additionally set up warning beacons and/or worked with a signalvest. He answered questions posed to him by saying that a photographer would come and take pictures of the situation. In the vast majority of cases, this was enough of an answer.
